We dance every Thursday evening at 8:15pm. Most weeks our teacher, John Gibson, offers Step and Formation Practice at 7:30pm prior to the main class. Beginners are encouraged to attend but this is not compulsory.

Weeks when Step and Formation Practice will not be held will be indicated on our social media pages and on our News & Events page. Please check each week for updates to the schedule before arriving for Step Practice.

We dance in the Dún Laoghaire Presbyterian Church Hall in York Road.

There’s ample free parking onsite and the 46A bus stops directly outside the church gates. The Dún Laoghaire Dart station is a 15-20 minute walk away. Some of our members carpool to and from dancing. Chat with us if you think you might want to carpool, especially if you’re not on any of the public transportation routes but you really want to join us for dancing!

If you have any questions about getting here or parking onsite, please contact us: secretary@dancescottishdublin.org

Your first two classes are free! After that it’s €5 per class.

Annual membership is an option for those who wish to pay a yearly subscription rather than paying weekly. This is more cost-effective if you plan on attending every week/most weeks. Please chat with us to arrange this.

There is zero financial commitment as we do not run “terms” or require our members to pay for a bulk number of classes. You can attend weekly and pay €5 each time you attend, or dip in and out depending on work, family, and life commitments. If you opt to pay-as-you-go rather than avail of annual membership, you will only pay €5 for each class you attend.

NB: Annual membership runs from September 1st to August 31st every year. This is paid in a lump sum and is nonrefundable.

Wear clothes that are comfortable to move in and soft shoes with a non-slip sole (such as light runners–please do not wear shoes that are bulky or heavy).

Many of our dancers wear ballet pumps, jazz dance shoes or split-sole dance sneakers, which can be purchased from dance shops. We recommend you try dance shoes on before buying them, rather than buying online, as sizes do vary (your ballet pump size is usually a half-size or full size larger than your street shoe size, hence the importance of trying them on before buying them!). Feel free to contact us for recommendations/more information.

It goes without saying that you do not have to wear a kilt…unless you want to!

Just yourself! You might want to bring a bottle of water. Midway through the evening we have a tea/coffee break and we provide cake or biscuits to nibble on (most weeks home-baked goods are kindly provided by Judy Barnes, our fiddle player).
